Netherlands opens modern visa centre in Banani
The Embassy of the Netherlands in Dhaka, in partnership with VFS Global, has launched a new Netherlands Visa Application Centre in Banani, Dhaka, providing an upgraded and streamlined visa application experience for Bangladeshi travellers.
From 2 November 2025, applicants for Netherlands short-stay (C category) and Caribbean visas may submit their applications at the new centre by booking appointments online.
The centre was formally inaugurated on 3 November 2025 by H.E. Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Bangladesh.
"Bangladesh remains a significant partner for the Netherlands, with increasing people-to-people, business and educational exchanges," said Ambassador van Bommel. "The new Visa Application Centre represents an important step in further strengthening these ties by providing travellers with a more convenient and efficient visa process."
A VFS Global spokesperson added, "This launch further strengthens our longstanding partnership with the Government of the Netherlands. We are confident that this new centre in Dhaka will deliver a seamless and improved experience for applicants."
Applicants may also select from a range of optional services—such as SMS alerts, courier delivery and assistance with form-filling—to enhance convenience throughout the visa submission process.
VFS Global's role is limited to administrative tasks such as collecting application forms, documents and biometrics; visa decisions remain solely the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands in The Hague.
VFS Global has provided visa processing services for the Netherlands since 2006 and currently operates 107 dedicated centres in 52 countries.
