NCC Bank rolls out new offerings on international MSME Day

On the occasion of International MSME Day, NCC Bank PLC organised a customer gathering and awareness workshop to promote CMSME financing and unveil several new services aimed at small and medium entrepreneurs.

The event, held in Dhaka, was chaired by the bank's Managing Director and CEO, M Shamsul Arefin. Nawshad Mustafa, Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department, Bangladesh Bank, attended as a a special guest. Among others, NCC Bank's Additional Managing Director M Khurshed Alam, Deputy Managing Directors Md Mahbub Alam, Md Zakir Anam, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman and Md Monirul Alam, and senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and NCC Bank were present.

Key highlights of the programme included open loan disbursements, the launch of the SME Visa Multi-Currency Debit Card, the unveiling of the NCC Always mobile app for CMSME customers, and the introduction of QR Code and Chatbot facilities.

M Khurshed Alam noted that CMSMEs contribute around 25% of the country's total production and play a pivotal role in the rural economy. He urged bank officials to prioritise financial inclusion to strengthen the sector.

Bangladesh Bank's Nawshad Mustafa commended NCC Bank's role in expanding CMSME financing and reaffirmed the central bank's commitment to removing bottlenecks and promoting inclusive growth.

Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin emphasised the strategic importance of MSMEs for sustainable development. "NCC Bank is continuously working to support CMSME customers," he said. He also introduced four new specialised financing products for SMEs: NCC Commercial Building Loan, NCC Commercial Vehicle Loan, NCC Supply Chain Finance, and NCC SME Business Account.

"We are launching services that are not just innovative, but tailored to meet the evolving needs of small businesses," he added. He further announced that the bank will continue to develop customised financial solutions for CMSME clients shortly.

The programme brought together branch managers, SME entrepreneurs, and customers, fostering dialogue on policy, innovation, and investment opportunities to strengthen the CMSME sector.
