NBR honours five institutions with e-Return champion certificate

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has recognised five leading institutions with the prestigious "e-Return Champion Certificate" under the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW) programme.
The recipients are BURO Bangladesh, BRAC, BAT Bangladesh, Sonali Bank PLC, and Renata Pharmaceuticals.
These awards were conferred on the country's largest taxpayers in acknowledgement of their contributions to the Government's automation agenda and their continued support for progressive national initiatives.
Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, Finance Adviser, attended the event as chief guest and handed over the certificates. Abdur Rahman Khan, Chairman of NBR, presided over the ceremony. Commerce Adviser SK Bashir Uddin, Special Envoy on International Affairs to the Chief Adviser Lutfey Siddiqi, and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Dr Anisuzzaman Chowdhury were present as special guests.
The NBR introduced the e-Return Champion Certificate to encourage compliance and highlight institutions that are advancing the country's digital transformation in revenue administration. Officials noted that the recognition also reflects a broader effort to build a transparent, efficient, and technology-driven taxation system.
The Bangladesh Single Window programme is designed to streamline trade and taxation processes through automation, reducing paperwork and facilitating easier compliance for businesses. By recognising leading organisations in this space, the NBR aims to set examples that inspire others to adopt digital filing practices.
