Naseemul Hye takes charge as ICSB President; Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan named SVP

Mr M. Naseemul Hye FCS has been elected as President of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) during its 109th Council Meeting held on 16 June 2025. He will serve for the remaining period of the 2022–2025 Council term.

Mr Hye previously held several key leadership roles at ICSB, including Senior Vice President (2013–2016), Vice President (2010–2013), and Treasurer for three consecutive terms from 2007 to 2010.

Currently serving as Deputy Managing Director (Chief Compliance Officer) of Meghna Cement Mills PLC, Mr Hye was formerly the Senior Executive Director and Company Secretary of Bashundhara Group. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Accounting from the University of Dhaka in 1981 and 1982, respectively.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, he is a Member of the Governing Body of ActionAid International/Bangladesh and serves as the Treasurer of the organisation.

At the same Council meeting, Mr Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan FCS was elected Senior Vice President for the remainder of the term. He is currently the Deputy General Manager and Chief Regulatory Officer (Acting) of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC, where he has served in various leadership roles since 2006. He completed his BBA and MBA, majoring in Finance and Banking, from the University of Dhaka in 2002 and 2003, respectively.

Mr A.K.M. Mushfiqur Rahman FCS continues to serve as Vice President, and Mr Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun FCS as Treasurer of the Institute.
