Minister asks Bangladesh Cable Shilpa to upgrade technology
Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Faqir Mahbub Anam has asked Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited to adopt modern technologies, improve productivity and manufacture products that meet international standards.
He made the remarks while exchanging views with officials and employees of Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited after visiting the company's facilities in Khulna on Tuesday, 16 June, 2026.
Nazrul Islam Manju, Administrator of the Khulna City Corporation (KCC), was also present at the event.
"Local industrial enterprises play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh's telecommunications infrastructure. Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited has been making significant contributions to the development of the country's telecommunications and information technology sectors. The company must continue to move forward by enhancing its technological capabilities and manufacturing products that meet international standards," the minister said.
Faqir Mahbub Anam said Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited manufactures various types of cable products and stressed the need for the company to continuously adopt modern technologies in place of outdated ones.
He also highlighted the importance of effective planning, sound marketing strategies, efficient distribution systems and the development of a proactive marketing network.
The minister said employees must regard the company as their own institution, as a sense of ownership is essential to its growth and success.
He assured officials and employees that necessary measures would be taken to support the development and advancement of Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited.
During the visit, the minister toured the production facilities and observed various stages of the manufacturing process.
He reviewed the company's operations and stressed the importance of improving productivity, maintaining quality standards and increasing the use of modern technologies.
The minister praised the dedication, professionalism and efficiency of the officials and employees, and called upon all concerned to work collectively for the overall development of the organisation.
Following the visit, Faqir Mahbub Anam planted a sapling of a native mango variety on the premises of Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited.
Senior officials of Bangladesh Cable Shilpa Limited were present during the visit. They briefed the minister on the company's production activities, future plans and ongoing development initiatives.
