Metlife names sumon agency best insurance agency of 2025
MetLife Bangladesh has recognised Sumon Agency of Noakhali as the best insurance agency of 2025, honouring its outstanding performance among all MetLife agencies across the country.
This marks the second time Sumon Agency has received the prestigious recognition, which is awarded annually to only one agency nationwide.
According to MetLife Bangladesh, Sumon Agency earned the distinction for its contributions to raising awareness about life insurance, effective use of digital technology, strong customer service, employment generation, and achieving the highest business performance in 2025.
The achievement reflects the collective efforts of the agency's unit managers and financial associates under the leadership of Branch Manager Sofi Ullah Sumon. The agency is located on Maijdee Court Main Road in Noakhali.
Sofi Ullah Sumon joined MetLife in 2008 as a financial associate and was promoted to unit manager in 2010. He became branch manager in 2018, following consistent performance and leadership success.
Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Bangladesh Ala Ahmad handed over the 'Best Agency' trophy to Sofi Ullah Sumon at a ceremony held at the agency office. Senior officials present at the event included AMD and Chief Distribution Officer Jafar Sadeque Chowdhury, DMD and Chief Financial Officer Ala Uddin, DMD and Chief Operations Officer Kamrul Anam, Assistant Managing Director and Chief Agency Sales Officer Md Lutfor Rahman, Assistant Managing Director and Chief Distribution Development Officer Ashraful Haque, and Assistant Managing Director and Chief Corporate Business Officer Mohammad Kamruzzaman, among others.
Commenting on the recognition, Ala Ahmad said insurance plays a critical role beyond financial protection by contributing to economic growth and stability. He said recognising excellence is intended to encourage agencies across the country to innovate and expand insurance coverage.
The ceremony highlighted the insurance sector's contribution to the national economy, officials said.
