Community Bank celebrates seven years, sets sights on cashless banking by 2029

Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has celebrated its seventh anniversary, renewing its commitment to transformation, growth and sustainability as it seeks to expand technology-driven banking services.

Officials and employees marked the occasion through various programmes, reflecting on the bank's achievements and experiences over the past seven years and its future opportunities, according to a press release.

Inspector General of Police and Community Bank Bangladesh PLC Chairman Md Ali Hossain Fakir cut an anniversary cake at Police Headquarters.

Bangladesh Police Additional IGP (Finance) Md Akram Hossain, BPM (Sheba); Additional IG and Police Staff College Rector Kazi Md Fazlul Karim, BPM (Sheba); Deputy Inspector General (Confidential) Md Kamrul Ahsan; Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust Additional DIG Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba); and Bangladesh Police Inspector Kamrul Hasan Talukdar attended the event.

Community Bank Independent Directors Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan, Syed Rafiqul Haq and Mohammed Tofazzul Hussain FCA, and Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin were also present, alongside senior bank officials.

Speaking at the event, Md Ali Hossain Fakir said, "The trust and capabilities that Community Bank has built over the past seven years are a matter of great pride. We look forward to the bank playing an even more important role in the country's economic progress by ensuring more modern, customer-friendly and sustainable banking services in the future."

Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin said, "Our commitment on the occasion of Community Bank's 7th anniversary is to make the bank stronger and take it to new heights through transformation, growth and sustainability in the days ahead."

He said the bank's achievements provided a foundation for its future development.

"In its seven years of operation, Community Bank has built a strong foundation. This achievement inspires our future journey. Alongside further improving technology, innovation and service quality in line with the changing banking sector, we must give the highest priority to our customers' trust and expectations. At the same time, we must further strengthen our contribution to the country's economic progress through responsible and sustainable banking," he said.

He also highlighted the bank's workforce.

"Our greatest strength is our people—our officials and employees. Through their skills, dedication, collective efforts and innovative thinking, Community Bank will turn the opportunities of tomorrow into success," he added.

The bank's head office was decorated for the anniversary. Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin joined officials and employees from different levels of the organisation in cutting another anniversary cake.

The celebration allowed employees to reflect on the bank's seven-year journey, including its memories, achievements, and experiences.

Following the celebration, officials and employees shared accounts of the institution's growth, the challenges they had worked to overcome and memorable moments from their professional association with Community Bank.

They renewed their commitment to building on those achievements through collective effort, technological innovation, continuous improvement and sustainable growth.

The bank said its employees aspired to strengthen its contribution to Bangladesh's financial progress through more modern and responsible banking services.

Community Bank also reaffirmed its aim to establish itself as a trusted, sustainable and cashless bank in Bangladesh by 2029.
