MCCI mourns tragic aircraft crash at Milestone School and College
The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI), has expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences following the fatal crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft that struck the Milestone School and College campus in Uttara earlier today.
The incident claimed the lives of at least 27 individuals, including a young Air Force pilot and several students, casting a shadow of grief across the nation. In a statement issued shortly after the tragedy, MCCI described the loss as "heart-wrenching" and offered solidarity to the families of the victims, the Bangladesh Air Force, and the affected educational institution.
"These were lives full of promise, cut short in a moment of unforeseen tragedy. The entire business community mourns alongside the nation," the statement read.
The chamber also conveyed its sympathies to the injured and wished them a swift and full recovery.
MCCI said it stands firmly beside all those impacted by the crash and underscored the importance of strengthening safety protocols across sectors.
"No words can fully ease the pain of such an immense loss. But we hope the outpouring of national support brings some comfort to the bereaved," the chamber noted.
Looking ahead, MCCI reaffirmed its commitment to working with the government and relevant authorities to promote preparedness and preventive measures in the interest of public safety.
