Manarat Dhaka sign agreement with Duke of Edinburgh Foundation

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh and Manarat Dhaka International School and College have signed a sub-licence agreement to expand youth development initiatives.

The partnership will enable the institution to implement the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award programme for its students, offering them the opportunity to develop life skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving; build resilience and leadership by overcoming challenges; and foster a sense of civic responsibility through hands-on community service and experiential learning.

Brigadier General S M Mahbub-Ul-Alam, OSP, SGP, ndc, psc (Retd), Principal of Manarat Dhaka International School & College, and Mr Rizwan Bin Farouq, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Foundation Bangladesh, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations during a ceremony at the school campus.

The Vice Principal, the Students' Guidance Counsellor, faculty members, and a group of students also attended and witnessed the occasion.

By proudly adopting the Award programme, Manarat Dhaka International School & College joins a prestigious global movement spanning over 120 countries and territories, as well as a thriving national network of 124 institutions in Bangladesh, all dedicated to preparing young people for life beyond academics.

Established in 1956 by HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is the world's leading youth achievement programme, open to participants aged 14 to 24. The programme provides a structured pathway for personal development by engaging young people in voluntary service, improving physical fitness, developing practical skills such as communication and leadership, and participating in adventurous journeys that foster independence and confidence.

Since 2008, the programme in Bangladesh has engaged thousands of young participants with their communities, helping them grow into confident, capable adults.
