Justice Md Azizul Haque, Nurjahan Begum join Southeast Bank board
Justice Md Azizul Haque and Nurjahan Begum, NDC, have joined Southeast Bank PLC's Board of Directors as independent directors.
The bank's 799th Board of Directors meeting, held at its head office in Dilkusha, Dhaka, under the chairmanship of Southeast Bank Founder and Chairman MA Kashem, made the appointments, according to the press release.
The meeting discussed various matters relating to the bank and took necessary decisions.

Justice Md Azizul Haque joined the Bangladesh Judicial Service in 1981.
He served as an additional judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh from 2008 to 2010.
He has authored several books on law and is currently serving as an arbitrator.
Nurjahan Begum, NDC, is a former additional secretary to the government with nearly four decades of experience in public administration, tax administration, economic management, and governance.
She also served as a member of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
During her career, she served as Senior Directing Staff (Civil) at the National Defence College (NDC).
Southeast Bank said adding the two independent directors is expected to strengthen the bank's corporate governance, institutional expertise, and overall organisational capacity.
