Jeep Bangladesh celebrated GMD Hossain Khaled’s appointment as City Bank Chairman, marking a new chapter for the bank and Anwar Group
Jeep Bangladesh – Toledo Motors Limited, a concern of Anwar Group of Industries, proudly celebrated the success of their Group Managing Director, Mr. Hossain Khaled, on the occasion of his election as the Chairman of City Bank PLC.
The celebration took place on 9 August 2025 at the Jeep Experience Center in Uttara, Dhaka, bringing together a distinguished gathering.
The event was graced by the Directors of Anwar Group, senior management from City Bank, longstanding Jeep owners, automobile enthusiasts, and beloved family members, all united in honoring this significant leadership milestone. Mr. Khaled's appointment followed a meeting of the Board of Directors on 27 July 2025, during which he was officially elected to lead the bank .

He steps into this new role following seven years of service as Vice Chairman of City Bank, and holds key positions as a member of the Board's Executive Committee and the Risk Management Committee. He also chairs two of the bank's subsidiaries—City Brokerage Limited and City Hong Kong Limited . His rich academic background includes a BBA in Accounting from the University of Toledo and an MBA in International Banking from Texas A&M University .
As Group Managing Director of Anwar Group of Industries, Mr Khaled continues a powerful legacy—the son of the late Anwar Hossain, a co-founder of City Bank and a four-time Chairman—bringing generational leadership and vision into the bank's future .
