JCI Dhaka united elects new governing board for 2026
The General Assembly 2025 of Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dhaka United was held on Tuesday, 25 November, at 7:00pm at the Lambda Hall of Gulshan Club Limited in Dhaka.
The session was presided over by Local President (LP) A F M Fahmidur Rahman Oni and featured a review of the chapter's annual activities, achievements, and organisational progress. The Annual Report was presented by Local Secretary General Md Robiul Islam, while the Income and Expenditure Report was presented by Local Treasurer Shahadaat Hossain Saadi.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Dr A F M Matiur Rahman, Chairman of Karmasangsthan Bank; Arun Kumar Chowdhury, Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank; Arefin Rafi Ahmed, Deputy National President of JCI Bangladesh; S M Tanvir Saad Akash, National Executive Vice President of JCI Bangladesh; and Sahariar Hasan Jiisun, Mentor and National Vice President of JCI Bangladesh.
Former Local Presidents present included Khadiza Akter (2019), Tasneem Huq (2020), Senator Md Azazul Hasan Khan (2022), Senator Muntasir Mamun (2023), and Senator Md Kamruzzaman Pavel (2024).
Following the General Assembly, elections were held for the 2026 Governing Board. Dr Md Enamul Hoque was unanimously elected as Local President for the 2026 term, while outgoing LP Fahmidur Rahman Oni will serve as the Immediate Past Local President (IPLP).
The elected board for 2026 comprises Executive Vice Presidents Md Robiul Islam and Mir Mohammad Ali; Vice Presidents Masud Bin Abdur Razzak, Shahadaat Hossain Saadi, Easel Mortuza, and Ranjan Mir Mohsin; Secretary General Maksud Hossain; Treasurer Tahyadul Islam Tamjid; and General Legal Counsel Tasneem Tian.
The Directors for 2026 are Aspia Ahsan, Maria Mumu, Ariful Islam, and Asifur Rahman. Additional appointed roles include Md Abdul Kaiyum as Assistant to the Local President; Zahid Hasan Arju as Digital Committee Chair; Mohaiminul Hoque Joy as Event Committee Chair; Arif Sikder as Public Relations Committee Chair; Khadijatul Kubra as JIB Committee Chair; Dr Tamim as International Relations Committee Chair; Badrun Nahar Koli as Student Affairs Committee Chair; and Swapnil Haider as Strategic Committee Chair.
After the election results were announced, the new board members took their oath, and the outgoing LP formally handed over the leadership chain to LP-elect Dr Md Enamul Hoque. The new board will assume office on 1 January 2026.
During the programme, two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed with South-East Bank and online retailer Finger Tips. Local President Fahmidur Rahman Oni signed on behalf of JCI Dhaka United. From South-East Bank, the agreement was signed by Md Abdus Sabur Khan, Head of Cards and Senior Executive Vice President; and from Finger Tips, by Toufiq-ul Karim Suhrid, Managing Director and CEO. The agreements will enable members of all JCI chapters in Bangladesh to access special benefits and services.
The event concluded with a photo session, dinner, and a cultural performance, marking a successful close to the General Assembly and welcoming the newly elected leadership team for 2026.
