Jaldhaka BNP pays tribute to language martyrs on 21 February
On Saturday morning, to mark Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day, the Jaldhaka upazila unit of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) paid tribute to the language martyrs by laying wreaths and flowers.
Among those present were Fahmid Faisal Comet Chowdhury, former president of Jaldhaka upazila BNP and former mayor; Moynul Haque, member of the Nilphamari district BNP convening committee; and Rashidul Islam Bangali. Md Shariful Islam Babu, along with leaders and activists of the upazila BNP and its affiliated bodies at thana and union levels, also attended.
Speakers recalled the sacrifices of the language martyrs and called for unity in preserving the dignity of the mother tongue.
Following the tribute, prayers were offered for the departed souls of the language martyrs.
