IUBAT celebrates research excellence of students and alumni

The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), the first non-government university in Bangladesh, hosted the Students and Alumni Research Excellence Celebration Ceremony 2025 on Wednesday at Conference Room 324 of its campus.

Organised by the Miyan Research Institute, the event honoured outstanding research contributions by current students and alumni. The celebration reflects IUBAT's commitment to fostering a strong research culture and promoting academic excellence aligned with national and global development goals.

The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Professor Dr Sajal Saha, Director of the Miyan Research Institute. The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Professor Dr Abdur Rab. Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman and Treasurer Professor Selina Nargis, who is also an Executive Member of the Miyan Research Institute, were present at the programme.

In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor commended the achievements of student and alumni researchers across disciplines such as agriculture, engineering, business, and public health. He underscored the importance of sustained academic inquiry in addressing contemporary challenges, adding that research plays a vital role in driving national progress and sustainable development.

Also in attendance were Registrar Professor Dr Md Momtazur Rahman and Controller of Examinations Brigadier General Dr Md Zahid Hossain (Retd.), along with faculty members, alumni, students, and guests.

Certificates and tokens of appreciation were presented to high-performing researchers and contributors in recognition of their exceptional work.

The event reaffirmed IUBAT's dedication to its founding vision—"An Environment Designed for Learning"—and the legacy of its late founder, Professor Dr M Alimullah Miyan. As a pioneering institution in higher education, IUBAT remains committed to advancing research, academic innovation, and impactful community engagement.
