ISU welcomes new students at Fall 2025 freshers’ reception
International Standard University (ISU) held its Freshers' Reception for autumn 2025 on Thursday at its Mohakhali campus, welcoming newly admitted students to the ISU community.
The event was chaired by Professor Dr Abdul Awal Khan, Vice-Chancellor of ISU, while Engineer Tasmiah Rahman, Member of the Board of Trustees, attended as a special guest.
In his address, Dr Abdul Awal Khan urged students to focus on both education and character building to ensure a successful career and to contribute meaningfully to their families, the nation, and the world. He said ISU is committed to maintaining a student-friendly environment with modern classrooms, laboratories, qualified faculty, and active co-curricular programmes.
Engineer Tasmiah Rahman welcomed the new students and encouraged them to embrace university life as a journey of learning, creativity, and innovation. She advised them to balance academic excellence with self-development, and social responsibility.
Also present were Professor H T M Quader Newaz, Treasurer; Professor Md Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology; and Professor Dr Md Ekramul Hoque, Director of IQAC, who attended as special guests.
Professor Mohammad Ali, Convener of the Organising Committee, delivered the welcome speech, while Mayesha Afia Jarin, Lecturer, Department of Law, and Sk Shoaib Ahmed, Lecturer, Department of English, anchored the ceremony. Faculty members, students, and administrative officials joined the programme, which concluded with a cultural performance by ISU students.
