ISU organises grand reception for its cricket team
The Grand Reception ceremony for the ISU Cricket Team was held at the Mohakhali campus of International Standard University (ISU) on 19th May 2025 under the chairmanship of ISU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Awal Khan.
The Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ISU, Engineer Atiqur Rahman, was also present as the chief guest.
The ISU cricket team made an impressive debut by finishing as runners-up in the 15th edition of the ULAB Fair Play Cup T20 Cricket Tournament 2025, an event organised with participation from renowned universities nationwide. In the group stage, ISU defeated Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), United International University (UIU), Dhaka International University (DIU), and the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), emerging as group champions and securing a place in the semifinals. Later in the semifinal match, ISU triumphed over Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT), ensuring a spot in the final game against the hosts, ULAB.

ISU cricketer Mohammad Ramzan delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament, earning the title of "Man of the Match" three times and ultimately being awarded the "Man of the Tournament" award.
Special guests included Professor H T M Quader Newaz, Treasurer, Professor Dr. Monjur Morshed Mahmud, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, and Professor Md. Abul Kashem, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, also enlightened the program.
Professor Mohammad Ali, the advisor of the ISU Cricket Team, addressed the ceremony. Among those present were Abu Nazim, Manager of the ISU Cricket Team and Majaharul Islam, Captain of the ISU Cricket Team. The university awarded players with financial incentives and symbolic mementoes. Teachers, students, and administrative officers also attended the Reception Programme.
