Islami Bank holds shari`ah supervisory council meeting

The Shari'ah Supervisory Council of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC held its meeting on Sunday, 29 June 2025, at the Islami Bank Tower in Dhaka.
The meeting was presided over by Mufti Sayeed Ahmad, Chairman of the Shari'ah Supervisory Council. Md Omar Faruk Khan, Managing Director (current charge) of Islami Bank, and Prof Dr Mohammad Abdus Samad, Member Secretary of the council, were present alongside other council members.
During the meeting, the council reviewed key issues related to Shariah compliance in banking operations and discussed strategies to strengthen adherence to Islamic financial principles further. Emphasis was placed on ensuring that all products and services offered by the bank continue to align with Shariah guidelines.
The council expressed satisfaction with the bank's commitment to ethical banking practices and underscored the importance of continuous oversight and knowledge sharing to maintain the integrity of Shari'ah across all levels of operation.
