International fiber and polymer conference to be held in Dhaka

The 2nd International Conference on Recent and Advanced Fibre and Polymer Materials (ICFP-2025), organised by SFSB in collaboration with ISU and BUTEX, will be held on 26–27 August 2025 at BUTEX, Dhaka.
The two-day event, running from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, will bring together leading global and local researchers, academics, and industry experts to discuss sustainable textiles, eco-friendly and electronic fibers, medical textiles, nanofibers, recycled fibers, muslin, geotextiles, carbon and glass fibers, spinning, weaving, wet processing, polymers, fiber composites, and industrial relations.
Professor Dr M.A. Barique, President of SFSB and faculty member at Shizuoka University, Japan, will preside over the conference. International participants include Professor Takeshi Kikutani, Professor Caroline L Schauer, Dr Rudolf Hufenus, Professor Suwabun Chirachanchai, Professor Seeram Ramakrishna, Professor Han Yong, Professor Shuichi Tanoue, and Professor Koji Nakane.
From Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Md Zulhash Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of BUTEX; Professor Mohammad Abul Kashem, Dean of ISU; Professor HTM Quader Newaz, Treasurer of ISU; and Professor Dr. Mohammad Masudur Rahman, among others, will attend, alongside researchers, policymakers, and students from leading institutions.
The organisers expressed hope that the platform will open new horizons of research and innovation in Bangladesh's textile and polymer industry, fostering stronger global collaboration and industrial development.
