Stamford University launches Forum Week to boost student engagement
Stamford University Bangladesh has launched its three-day Forum Week 2026 to recruit new members for 17 student forums and clubs while fostering leadership, creativity and teamwork.
Organised by the university's Students' Welfare Office (SWO), the event was inaugurated at noon on Sunday (9 August) on the university auditorium premises, according to a press release.
Stamford University Bangladesh Board of Trustees Chairperson Professor Dr Farahnaaz Feroz attended the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest. At the same time, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber was present as a special guest.
Also attending were Stamford University Bangladesh Proctor Professor Dr Mrityunjoy Acharjee, Registrar Muhammad Abdul Matin, Director of Finance Mohammad Motaher Hossain, Head of Public Relations Prodeepto Mobarook, and Student Welfare Adviser Tamanna Zerin.
Chairpersons of different departments, conveners and members of various forums and clubs, and many students also attended.
The programme, running from 9 to 11 August, has been organised primarily to invite students to join the 17 forums and clubs operating under the Students' Welfare Office. Activities will take place daily from 10 am to 4 pm. Organisers said the initiative went beyond membership recruitment, aiming to develop students' leadership qualities, creativity, communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Professor Dr Farahnaaz Feroz highlighted the importance of co-curricular activities in students' overall development.
She said participation in social, cultural and organisational activities alongside academic studies played an important role in strengthening students' skills, confidence and personality.
Professor Dr Sharif Nafe As-Saber encouraged students to become actively involved in the university's forums and clubs.
He said such activities helped students enhance their leadership, communication and organisational capabilities while preparing them for future professional challenges.
Professor Dr Mrityunjoy Acharjee stressed the importance of responsible and positive participation in co-curricular activities.
He said organisational experience gained during university life could help students become more confident, capable and responsible individuals.
The university authorities said students were regularly encouraged to participate in co-curricular activities to ensure their well-rounded development alongside academic education.
During the three-day event, the university's forums and clubs will showcase their activities, invite students to engage with them and recruit new members. The Students' Welfare Office thanked everyone involved in organising and participating in the event.
