IDCOL named best sustainable bank in bangladesh for third consecutive year
Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) has been awarded the "Best Sustainable Bank – Bangladesh" title at the FinanceAsia Awards 2025, recognising its continued leadership in financing climate-smart infrastructure, renewable energy, and green industrial transformation across the country.
This marks the third consecutive year IDCOL has received the prestigious honour, reaffirming its position as a frontrunner in sustainable banking and impactful development finance.
Alamgir Morshed, Executive Director and CEO of IDCOL accepted the award on behalf of the organisation at the FinanceAsia Awards Gala Dinner held in Hong Kong on June 17, 2025.
IDCOL was recognised for several high-impact transactions, including acting as the Mandated Lead Arranger for one of Bangladesh's largest grid-tied solar power plants, financing an energy-efficient steel melting project, and managing a World Bank-funded off-grid electrification facility in Malawi, which has provided clean energy access to over one million rural beneficiaries in that country.
In his remarks, Alamgir Morshed expressed appreciation to FinanceAsia for acknowledging IDCOL's efforts and extended his gratitude to the organisation's partners and stakeholders for their continued trust and support.
"These awards reflect IDCOL's commitment to advancing sustainable financing that not only drives economic growth but also strengthens Bangladesh's resilience to climate and environmental challenges," he said.
The recognition highlights IDCOL's expanding footprint in sustainable infrastructure development, both domestically and internationally, as well as its role in accelerating the transition to a low-carbon, inclusive economy.
