ICAB COO joins IFAC advisory group for 2026–28
For the first time from Bangladesh, Mahbub Ahmed Siddique, FCA, Chief Operating Officer of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB), has been selected by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as a member of the Professional Accountancy Organization Development and Advisory Group (PAODAG) for the 2026–2028 term.
The selection followed a rigorous global nomination process conducted by the IFAC Nominating Committee.
In this role, Siddique will provide strategic guidance and practical support to professional accountancy organisations worldwide, with the aim of strengthening institutional capacity, sustainability and public-interest outcomes. ICAB said the appointment reflects international recognition of Siddique's professional expertise and experience, while also enhancing the institute's global standing.
Siddique is also an ICAB-nominated director at the SAFA Foundation and serves as Marketing Director at Chartered Accountants Worldwide.
In addition, he is currently serving as Assistant Executive Secretary of the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for 2025 and is set to assume the role of Executive Secretary in 2026.
