GICC 2025 ends with focus on investment in Bangladesh

The three-day Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference (GICC) 2025 concluded today at the Westin Parnas Hotel in Seoul, South Korea.
On 17 September, during the conference, Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridges Authority, met with GICC Chairman Han Man Hee to discuss key issues in the transport infrastructure sector. During this session, interest was expressed in collaborating on various transportation projects in Bangladesh.
Following this, the secretary also met privately with leaders of 12 major South Korean transport infrastructure firms, who expressed strong interest in Bangladesh's transport and communication projects. He emphasized the potential for Korean EDCF and EDPF financing in project implementation.
On the final day of the conference, 18 September, delegates from participating countries further deepened their engagement by visiting industries linked to Korea's transport infrastructure sector, officially concluding GICC 2025.
Reflecting on the conference and the secretary's active involvement, officials stated that the Bridges Division secretary's participation as Bangladesh's representative is expected to help create new financing opportunities for the country's infrastructure development.
