Foodpanda riders compete in cricket tournament in Gazipur
Online food and grocery delivery platform foodpanda Bangladesh organised a cricket tournament for its rider partners, titled Panda Rider Premier League 2025, at the CricBD Lakepori Cricket Arena in Purbachal, Gazipur.
The day-long tournament brought together riders from different areas of Dhaka and marked the second edition of foodpanda's rider-only cricket competition, following the inaugural event held in 2023. The initiative forms part of the platform's broader efforts to engage its rider community through sports, alongside football tournaments organised in recent years.
Eight teams representing different zones of Dhaka took part in the tournament: Gulshan Fighters, Uttara Super Giants, Mirpur Gladiators, Lalbagh Wari Kings, Basundhara Warriors, Baily Road Knight Riders, Narayanganj Bulls and Dhanmondi Blasters. A total of seven matches were played, including knockout rounds, two semi-finals and the final.

Gulshan Fighters emerged as champions after defeating Mirpur Gladiators in the final. The winning team received Tk40,000 in prize money, while the runners-up received Tk25,000.
Individual awards were also presented during the tournament. The Man of the Tournament received an e-bike sponsored by Dongjin, while awards were given for best batsman, best bowler and Man of the Match in the final. In addition, Bimafy provided a one-year insurance package for all members of both the champion and runner-up teams.
Mukitur Khan, head of logistics at foodpanda Bangladesh, said the initiative aimed to recognise riders beyond their daily delivery work and promote team spirit through sports and healthy competition.
The tournament was supported by Dongjin and Bimafy, with Kacchi Bhai, Khazana Mithai and Ascott Palace Dhaka as food partners, and PRAN, Bruvana, Hanay Foods and Chicken Buzz as beverage and snacks partners.
