FINXCEL 9.0- Unlocking Excel Mastery

In today's digital economy, proficiency in Microsoft Excel has become a crucial asset for students and professionals.

Recognising this need, the East-West University Investment and Finance Club (EWUIFC), in collaboration with CodeCrafters International, has launched the ninth edition of its flagship initiative—FINXCEL 9.0—which, for the first time, has expanded into a national-level competition, with the tagline Unlock Excel Mastery, inviting undergraduate participants from universities across Bangladesh.

FINXCEL 9.0 is more than just a competition. It is a movement aimed at equipping the next generation with practical, in-demand skills often overlooked in traditional curricula. As Leo Vashkor Dewri, Moderator of EWUIFC, remarked, "Excel is more than just numbers and formulas—it's a language of business. Through FINXCEL, we aim to give students the knowledge, confidence, and edge they need in today's competitive environment."

The event is structured to offer a comprehensive learning and testing experience. It begins with three intensive workshops designed to take participants from basic to advanced proficiency in Excel. The first session, scheduled for April 29, focuses on mastering fundamental Excel tools and functions. The second, held on April 30, introduces intermediate-level techniques, while the final workshop explores advanced Excel features, enabling participants to tackle complex data analysis and financial modelling tasks. These workshops are led by seasoned professionals from the industry, ensuring that participants gain technical knowledge and insights into real-world applications.

Following the training sessions, participants will compete in two challenging rounds. The first, the Excel Foundation Challenge, tests-core Excel skills under time constraints. Those who qualify will advance to the final round, the Advanced Excel Showdown, where they must demonstrate their ability to solve intricate, business-relevant problems using Excel. The grand finale, including the Winners Announcement Ceremony, will take place on May 10, where top performers will be recognized for their skill and dedication.

A prize pool of Tk 100,000 awaits the winners, with Tk 25,000 going to the champion. The first and second runners-up will receive Tk 15,000 and Tk 10,000, respectively. Participants ranked from fourth to fifteenth will also be awarded cash prizes. All contestants stand to receive professional certificates, crests, branded souvenirs, course scholarships from Lead Academy, and exclusive gift vouchers—recognition that will enhance their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, offering long-term career benefits.

The competition is for all students currently enrolled in undergraduate programs at any university in Bangladesh. Registration took place from 17l 17 2025 to Ap2727 2025. More details are available on the Facebook page of EWU Investment and Finance Club.

None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of our partners. CodeCrafters International again joins us as the title sponsor, powering the event with unmatched energy. Chilox is here with us as the food partner, adding a flavorful boost to the experience. New Zealand Dairy keeps us cool for refreshment, and Sunquick joins as our beverage partner. 96.4 Spice FM brings the buzz as our radio partner. For digital learning resources, Lead Academy is our proud E-learning partner. Broadcasting is brought to life with Prothom Business Television, while Limelight Production captures event moments. The Business Standard joins us as the English media partner, with Kaler Kantho leading in Bangla coverage. TBS Graduates, our youth engagement partner, ensure we stay connected with the pulse of tomorrow's leaders.

Adding to the event's vibrancy, ten dynamic university clubs collaborated with EWUIFC to bring this national initiative to life. These include North South University Young Economists' Forum (NSU YEF), BRAC University Business and Economics Forum (BIZ-ECO), IUB Economics Club, ULAB Business Club, University of Dhaka Finance Club, Jagannath University Business Club, Jahangirnagar University Career Club, United International University Finance Forum, Stamford University Business Club, Daffodil International University Finance and Banking Club.

These partners and collaborators share a common goal: empowering students with real-world skills that can shape their futures.

The previous edition, FINXCEL 8.0, left a lasting impact on its participants. Many students entered the program with minimal knowledge of Excel but completed it with newfound confidence and practical skills. They spoke highly of the opportunity to learn directly from professionals associated with leading firms like Unilever and ACI, gaining hands-on experience that bridged the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.

FINXCEL is a testament to how a single platform can transform academic curiosity into career readiness. It is not merely a training camp or another student competition—it is a national call to action, a rallying point for young minds eager to shape their futures with data, logic, and confidence, one Excel sheet at a time.
