Experts call for climate-resilient health protection in Satkhira

Urgent measures are needed to safeguard the health of women and adolescents in Satkhira, one of Bangladesh's most climate-vulnerable coastal districts, experts have urged.
Experts made this appeal at a discussion on climate-resilient health protection for women and adolescents in coastal regions, held on Friday at Padmapukur Union.
Shah Israt Azmery, Chairman of Children Watch Foundation, attended as the chief guest. Treasurer Afroza Akhter was the special guest. Education leaders Muhsin Hossain, SM Yasminur Rahman, and Maolana Ajmal Hossain also joined the session, moderated by Ariful Islam.
Speakers emphasised the need for awareness and preparedness in addressing climate-induced health risks. Muhsin Hossain emphasized the importance of raising awareness among women and adolescents, while Afroza Akhter encouraged active youth participation. Shah Israt Azmery called for sustained initiatives to build climate-resilient health protection in coastal regions.
