Book reading initiative by BSK, bKash reaches Lakshmipur and Feni

In a continued effort to nurture reading habits among students, Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, in partnership with bKash, has expanded its nationwide book reading programme to Lakshmipur and Feni.
This year, 40,000 books will be distributed to 330 educational institutions nationwide.
Books were handed over to students of several schools, including Collectorate School and College, Lakshmipur Collegiate High School, Lakshmipur Govt Girls' High School, Poura Shahid Smrity High School, Ziaul Hoque High School and College, and Ramganj High School in Lakshmipur; and Feni Poura Balika Biddya Niketan, Feni Shishu Niketan Collectorate School, Feni Girish-Akshay Academy, Holy Crescent School, and Feni Central High School in Feni.
Two events were organised at Lakshmipur Town Hall and Shilpakala Academy in Feni. Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Deputy Commissioner of Lakshmipur, and Saiful Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Feni, handed over the books to students. Humayun Kabir, EVP and Head of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs of bKash, and Khandakar Md Asaduzzaman, retired secretary and former trustee of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, were also present.
To further engage students, a quiz competition on contemporary topics was held for students in grades 6 to 10. Prizes were awarded to 80 winners at the end of the event.
Bishwo Shahitto Kendro has long been conducting this enrichment programme to cultivate book reading among students and help them grow as enlightened citizens. Since 2014, bKash has been supporting the initiative. To date, approximately 400,000 books have been distributed, benefiting over 3.3 million readers across nearly 3,000 educational institutions in Bangladesh.
