ESG Bootcamp 2025: A Step Towards Corporate Transformation in Bangladesh

The ESG Bootcamp 2025, organised by ESG Institute Bangladesh, took place at the Six Season Hotel in Dhaka, aiming to drive corporate transformation through Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
The event brought together C-suite executives, senior directors, and departmental heads from leading multinational organisations across the country, marking a significant step in Bangladesh's journey towards sustainable development.
In partnership with the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the UN Global Compact Network Bangladesh (UN-GCNB), and Swisscontact Bangladesh, and with support from PRAN-RFL Group, ACI Logistics, and Grameen Danone, the boot camp allowed participants to discuss the current and prospects of ESG practices and sustainable development in Bangladesh.
The boot camp was inaugurated by Shadman Sakib Anik, Executive Director of the ESG Institute Bangladesh. The event's chief guest was Chowdhury Liaqat Ali, Director of the Sustainable Finance Department at Bangladesh Bank. Kamran Bakr, Founder of Pro-for-Pro and former Chairman of Unilever Bangladesh, Joanne Flinn, Chairperson of ESG Institute Singapore, and Sadia Samira, Chairperson of ESG Institute Bangladesh, were also notable attendees.
Joanne Flinn expressed optimism about Bangladesh's future in the ESG space, stating, "Bangladesh is now gaining recognition in ESG. With a young population, a strong private sector, and continued policy progress, I am optimistic that the country will lead sustainable development in Asia."
In his remarks, Chowdhury Liaqat Ali emphasised the importance of collaboration, stating, "This ESG-centred initiative marks a new chapter for Bangladesh. I firmly believe that by working together, financial and business institutions can pave the way for a more responsible and sustainable future."
The ESG Bootcamp 2025 is seen as a pivotal event in the corporate sector's adoption of ESG practices in Bangladesh. Aligned with the global Sustainable Development Goals, this event highlights Bangladesh's growing commitment to a green and responsible future.
