EBL inspires students on financial literacy at NSU
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) recently organised an exclusive seminar entitled 'EBL Campus Connect: Inspiring New Generation in Banking' at North South University (NSU) to promote financial literacy and awareness among young learners.
The event aimed to empower university students with practical knowledge of modern banking and financial planning. More than three hundred students from various departments participated in the interactive session.
Speakers from EBL and Bangladesh Bank highlighted the importance of financial awareness among young people and how structured financial planning can help students take control of their financial futures. EBL also showcased its corporate overview and student banking segment through an audiovisual presentation.
Following the keynote session, an engaging question-and-answer segment allowed students to interact directly with EBL officials and discuss topics such as personal finance, student banking solutions and career prospects in the financial sector.
EBL representatives introduced several youth-focused banking solutions, including the Campus Account, Student File and Edu Savings Plan, designed to support students' financial goals both locally and abroad.
The seminar was attended by Abeda Rahim, Additional Director, Financial Inclusion Department, Bangladesh Bank; Dr AKM Waresul Karim, Professor and Dean; Dr FJ Mohaimen, Assistant Professor and Chair, Department of Accounting and Finance, School of Business and Economics, NSU; M Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking; and Sarmin Atik, Head of Liability and Wealth Management, EBL.
