EBL holds student banking conference in Faridpur to promote savings
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) organised a Student Banking Conference in Faridpur yesterday (26 September), bringing together 180 students and teachers from 35 educational institutions to promote savings and financial literacy among young people.
Held at Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Faridpur, under Bangladesh Bank's nationwide Student Banking Campaign, the conference also brought together representatives from 35 banks operating in the district, according to the press release.
The programme aimed to raise awareness about banking and financial services and encourage students to develop a savings-oriented mindset from an early age.

Bangladesh Bank Additional Director Md Habibur Rahman attended the conference as the chief guest.
EBL Senior Vice-President and Branch Area Head, Outstation, Retail and SME Banking Nadim Rahman presided over the programme.
Sonali Bank PLC General Manager In-Charge Md Tangimul Islam; Faridpur District Education Officer Bishnu Pada Ghoshal; and Bangladesh Bank Deputy Director Md Mahabub-Ul Alam were also present.
The conference began with a colourful rally involving students and other participants.
Students later took part in an interactive quiz competition organised by Bangladesh Bank, with prizes presented to the winners.
The conference also included a cultural programme.
The programme included a puppet show that demonstrated the benefits of student banking and the importance of financial literacy under the theme "Banking Umbrella".
The conference sought to familiarise students with banking services while encouraging them to understand the importance of regular savings and responsible financial habits from an early age.
