Eastern University crowned champion in shadow parliament debate
Eastern University has claimed the championship title at the ATN Bangla Shadow Parliament Debate Competition, organised by Debate for Democracy. In the final round, held on 27 December 2024, Eastern University defeated Bangladesh University in a spirited contest.
The event was graced by Advocate Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Honorable Attorney General, who attended as Chief Guest. Hasan Ahmed Kiran, President of Debate for Democracy, presided over the ceremony.
Eastern University's team—comprising Fatema Tuj Johura, Tanvir Ahmed, Kaniz Fatema Ritu, Najmul Islam Roton, and Abu Nasir Al Rakib—showcased exceptional debating prowess and teamwork to secure the championship.

The ceremony also saw the presence of Registrar Dr. Abul Basher Khan, Debating Club Coordinator and Lecturer of Law Department Moumita Rahman Eipshita, and Deputy Director of Student Affairs Mr. K.M. Monirul Islam, along with other faculty members and students of Eastern University.
