DSCC unveils budget for fiscal year 2025-2026

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has approved a budget of Tk 3,841.38 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26, with a revenue target of Tk 1,320.43 crore.
The budget was passed at the 7th DSCC Steering Committee meeting. It allocates Tk 635.33 crore for operating expenses, Tk 876.64 crore for development from DSCC's own funds, and Tk 1,469.24 crore for total development from DSCC, government, and foreign assistance.
Key allocations include Tk 365.11 crore for road and traffic infrastructure, Tk 115 crore for canal development and waterlogging relief, Tk 57.20 crore for urban waste management, Tk 57.44 crore for mosquito control and health, Tk 5.26 crore for tree planting and environmental development, and Tk 13.39 crore for welfare.
At the Nagar Bhaban Auditorium, DSCC Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia referred to the budget as a "deposit of our respected taxpayers." He said it is realistic and feasible, not ambitious, with reduced unnecessary expenses and no new taxes or rate increases.
The ceremony concluded with officials emphasizing DSCC's ongoing commitment to responsible budgeting and effective service delivery for city residents.
