DIU hosts first edition of Asia-Pacific summer programmme

Daffodil International University (DIU) successfully hosted the inaugural edition of the Asia-Pacific Summer Programme (APSP) 2025 and the Asia-Pacific Faculty Development Program (APFDP) 2025 from July 19 to 27, 2025, in association with the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP).
The event, under the theme "Together, A Great Summer," brought together over 60 participants from 17 different countries, including the USA, Sweden, Japan, Türkiye, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Palestine, Russia, Nigeria, Somaliland, Sierra Leone, and Bangladesh.
The closing ceremony was graced by Professor Dr M R Kabir, Vice Chancellor of DIU, along with other distinguished guests. During the ceremony, participants were presented with Tokens of Appreciation and Certificates. The event reached its peak during the Cultural Night and Gala Dinner, which featured captivating performances by local and international participants, creating a vibrant atmosphere of cultural exchange.
At APSP, attendees participated in engaging 3-credit courses, including Social Business for Sustainable Development, AI & Business Analytics, and Mobile Journalism, complemented by industry visits, field trips, and cultural exchanges. The APFDP 2025 served as a transformative 3-day platform for discussions on education, research, and innovation among faculty and academic leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region.
This initiative underscores DIU's commitment to fostering global academic collaboration and professional development. It also solidifies DIU's position as the only university in Bangladesh that consistently organizes large-scale international academic events each year, promoting global connectivity and exchange.
