Future Seeds Foundation begins journey with iftar for street children
Future Seeds Foundation, a newly formed social organisation, has formally begun its journey by sharing iftar with street children at Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Square in the capital.
The initiative brought volunteers and children together during the holy month of Ramadan, with organisers saying the event was intended to reflect empathy, dignity and shared humanity.
Founded on 27 November 2025, the non-profit organisation was established by a group of young graduates. The team said it currently runs the foundation through small personal contributions saved from members' monthly expenses, reflecting its commitment to grassroots social work.
On Wednesday, 12 March, shortly after Asr prayers, volunteers began distributing iftar meals to street children from Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Square and in several nearby areas of Mohammadpur, including Noorjahan Road, Salimullah Road and Azam Road.
Speaking about the initiative, Founder and Executive Director T M Sams Tabriz Akib said, "Ramadan teaches us compassion and the importance of sharing with others. Inspired by that spirit, Future Seeds Foundation organised this iftar for underprivileged children. Our long-term goal is to help ensure access to quality education for them. Beginning our journey through this initiative during Ramadan feels deeply meaningful. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who has supported us at the very start of this new foundation."
Akib said the organisation plans to expand its activities in future through educational support programmes, humanitarian assistance and community development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of disadvantaged children.
Co-founder Md Nakib Irtiza said the foundation was created from the belief that meaningful change can begin with small steps taken collectively by committed young people.
"We started this initiative with limited resources but strong determination. Our aim is to build a platform where young people can contribute to society and support children who lack opportunities," he said.
Members of the organisation said the platform aims not only to support disadvantaged communities, but also to encourage more young people to engage in humanitarian and social development work.
Future Seeds Foundation said it hopes to grow into a long-term platform focused on education, dignity and opportunity for vulnerable children in Bangladesh.
