Daffodil University pays tribute to liberation war martyrs
Daffodil International University observed Independence and National Day by honouring the nation's martyrs, reaffirming its commitment to Bangladesh's legacy of sacrifice and resilience.
The university placed floral wreaths at the National Martyrs' Memorial, paying tribute to those who gave their lives for the country's freedom.
The ceremony took place on the morning of 26 March 2026, led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M R Kabir. Following the wreath-laying, attendees observed a minute's silence in memory of the martyrs and offered prayers for the eternal peace of their souls.
Director of External Affairs Dr Syed Mizanur Rahman, faculty members, officials, and students were in attendance. Their participation underscored the solemnity of the occasion and reinforced the enduring significance of independence.
Speakers emphasised that Independence Day stands as a symbol of national identity, sacrifice, and unwavering courage. They highlighted the need to instil the spirit and values of independence in the younger generation, urging active participation in nation-building.
Through this tribute, Daffodil International University reiterated its respect for Bangladesh's history and heritage, and reaffirmed its commitment to inspiring future generations with the ideals of patriotism.
