CUET holds 138th syndicate meeting

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) convened its 138th Syndicate meeting today at the Syndicate Hall of the university. The meeting was chaired by CUET Vice-Chancellor and Syndicate Chairman Professor Dr Mahmood Abdul Matin Bhuiyan.
Senior academicians and government officials, including Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Ziauddin and Professor Dr Md Sekandar Chowdhury of the University of Chittagong were present at the meeting.
Md Humayun Kabir, Additional Secretary (Development) of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, Ministry of Education; Professor Dr Md Ainal Haque of BUET; Professor Dr Mohammad Zahidur Rahman of Jahangirnagar University; and Major (Retd) Md Firoz Khannun Farazi, Director at DBL Group Joined virtually at the meeting.
Professor Dr Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, Registrar (Additional Duty) of CUET, served as the member secretary of the session.
During the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor extended floral greetings to newly appointed Syndicate members. The new members included Professor Dr Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning; Professor Dr Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering; Professor Dr Asiful Haque, Director of the Institute of River, Harbour and Environmental Science; Professor Dr Mohammad Mashiul Haque, Director of the Institute of Information and Communication Technology; Professor Dr Sunil Dhar of the Department of Mathematics; and Professor Dr Mohammad Mostafa Kamal of the Department of Humanities.
New external members were also welcomed to the Syndicate, including Engineer Khan Ataur Rahman, retired Director General (TSC) and former Deputy Managing Director of BTBCL, and Professor Elias Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Chattogram.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of CUET's commitment to institutional development, academic integrity, and its enduring legacy of excellence in higher education.
