Community Bank celebrates six years with focus on innovation and inclusion

Community Bank Bangladesh PLC marked its 6th anniversary on Thursday, 11 September, with a ceremony attended by board members, customers, guests, and media representatives at a city hotel.
The milestone occasion reflected the Bank's continued growth and its role in supporting Bangladesh's financial sector.
Inspector General of Police and Bank Chairman Baharul Alam, BPM, led the programme. He reaffirmed the Bank's philosophy: "Since its inception, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has served as a people's bank. Guided by trust, security, and progress, we remain committed to the economic growth of Bangladesh," he said.
In his keynote, Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat underscored the Bank's focus on driving economic growth through innovation, with recent initiatives such as SME 360, an integrated SME solution, and Startup Nest, the country's first bank-led startup accelerator. He highlighted the launch of an AI-driven small credit scoring model in collaboration with PriyoShop and InGenee Singapore, as well as new customer services such as QR-based cash withdrawal and Community Access, a web-based platform, as examples of the Bank's commitment to supporting SMEs and startups.
Board members spoke at the event. Speakers included S M Sazzat Ali, ndc, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police; AKM Shahidur Rahman, BPM, PPM, ndc, Director General of RAB; and Md Golam Rasul, Additional IG, Special Branch.
To support inclusion, the Bank distributed refinancing cheques to women entrepreneurs and small business owners. It also handed over the first cheque under the AI-driven credit scoring model project.
The event concluded with a cake-cutting, cultural performances, and a gala dinner.
