City Bank elects two new DMD for small and medium enterprise business

In recognition of its strategic commitment to advancing Bangladesh's SME and Microfinance sectors, City Bank has appointed two of its senior leaders, Md. Nurul Azam Mozumder and Kamrul Mehedi are the deputy managing directors (DMDs).
This move reinforces the bank's dedication to inclusive and sustainable economic growth, which is aligned with the national development agenda and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Md. Nurul Azam Mozumder, previously serving as Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Medium Business, has been pivotal in expanding City Bank's footprint in the medium business segment. As a mathematics and business studies graduate from the University of Dhaka, Mozumder began his banking career with City Bank 1999 as a management trainee. Over the past 25 years, he has held numerous leadership roles, including Business Development Manager, Cluster Head of Branches, and Head of Branch Banking. Since 2018, as Head of Medium Business, his leadership has significantly contributed to the bank's success in this key segment.
Kamrul Mehedi, promoted to senior executive vice president, has led City Bank's small and microfinance business since 2017. Under his leadership, the bank launched several pioneering financial products for CMSME customers and deepened its agricultural, women's, and sustainable financing presence. Mehedi brings a unique blend of experience, having started his career at BRAC Bank and served in the Bangladesh Army. He holds a graduate degree in Banking Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), significantly shaping his approach to inclusive finance in the SME sector.
The appointment of Mozumder and Mehedi as DMD reflects City Bank's continued commitment to nurturing leadership that drives inclusive growth and the development of the SME sector across Bangladesh.
