Chinese firm to set up electronics plant in Chattogram EPZ

Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Co., Ltd., a Chinese-owned company, will set up a manufacturing facility in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone to produce Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones, and data cables.
Today (11 September), the company signed an investment agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA). Md Ashraful Kabir, Investment Promotion Member of BEPZA, and Li Fanfan, Managing Director of Direction Technology (Bangladesh) Co Ltd, signed the agreement in the presence of Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Executive Chairman of BEPZA.
Direction Technology will invest US$3 million in the project, which is expected to create employment opportunities for 478 Bangladeshi nationals. The company's focus on headphones and data cables reflects Bangladesh's growing shift towards higher-value, technology-oriented manufacturing, supporting the country's expanding electronics sector.
The BEPZA Executive Chairman warmly welcomed Direction Technology to Bangladesh's vibrant business community, expressing genuine enthusiasm for their investment. He highlighted the strength of Bangladesh's established apparel industry and reiterated BEPZA's dedication to export diversification. This investment, he noted, introduces exciting new electronics products to the market. He assured Direction Technology of BEPZA's full support and encouraged continued compliance with all operational standards.
Senior BEPZA officials, including Abdullah Al Mamun (Engineering), A N M Foyzul Haque (Finance), Md Tanvir Hossain (Investment Promotion), Md Khorshid Alam (Enterprise Services), and A S M Anwar Parvez (Public Relations) attended the signing, along with Direction Technology representatives.
