British High Commission Dhaka celebrates His Majesty King Charles III birthday

The British High Commission in Dhaka celebrated the official birthday of His Majesty King Charles III on 18 June with a ceremony that honoured the UK's Head of State and his long-standing commitment to climate action, sustainable development, the arts, healthcare and education.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke hosted the celebration, which featured a blend of British and Bangladeshi cuisine, live music, and a ceremonial toast to His Majesty and the continued growth of the UK–Bangladesh relationship.
Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Honourable Adviser to the Ministries of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and Water Resources, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The event brought together dignitaries from the Interim Government of Bangladesh, the Diplomatic Corps, political parties, and representatives from the worlds of business, academia, civil society, media, arts, culture and sports.
Speaking at the event, High Commissioner Sarah Cooke said:"It is my privilege to celebrate His Majesty's official birthday with our friends, partners and sponsors in Bangladesh.
We chose the theme of climate resilience and sustainable development for this year's celebration—issues that His Majesty has consistently championed and that lie at the heart of the Bangladesh partnership.
This year's celebration also reflects the UK's ongoing commitment to supporting Bangladesh on its path towards a democratic, inclusive and prosperous future."
The King's Birthday Party 2025 was made possible with the generous support of HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Unilever, Airbus, Oxford AQA, Menzies Aviation and Le Méridien.
The event reaffirmed the UK's close ties with Bangladesh and its shared commitment to global cooperation on climate and development challenges.
