British Council launches Young Learner English Centre in Uttara

The British Council has expanded its English language teaching network with the launch of a new Young Learner English Centre at International Hope School Bangladesh, Uttara campus.
The centre has been established to provide children and teenagers aged 7–17 with greater access to high-quality English learning in northern Dhaka, complementing the existing Fuller Road centre in the south-central part of the city. This initiative addresses families' demand for shorter commutes and improved accessibility.
Led by Cambridge-qualified teachers, the British Council's courses for young learners are designed to spark creativity and imagination while developing strong communication skills. Parents will also receive structured updates to track their child's progress and celebrate learning milestones.
The inauguration was attended by David Knox, Director Programmes, and Zunayed Ahmed, Director Operations – English and Exams, from the British Council; along with Nazmun Nahar, Head of Pre-school and Primary Section, and Shamsil Arefin, Head of Senior Section, Uttara; and Victor Datsyuk, Global Finance Director, International Hope School Bangladesh.
Stephen Forbes, Country Director Bangladesh, British Council said, "We are delighted to launch our new Young Learner English Centre in collaboration with International Hope School Bangladesh. This initiative reflects our commitment to providing world-class English learning opportunities for children and teenagers, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed academically and personally."
Classes will commence on 3 October 2025, with registration now open. Parents can book a free consultation or learn more by calling +88 09666 773377 or visiting: www.britishcouncil.org.bd/en/english-courses/kids-teens.
