Brac Bank job fair creates opportunities for persons with disabilities

BRAC Bank and BBDN hosted a Job Fair for Persons with Disabilities on September 4, 2025, at the Krishibid Institution in Dhaka.
The day-long fair drew more than 600 registered candidates with diverse educational qualifications and skill sets. A total of 22 employers from various sectors, including manufacturing, retail, banking, ICT, textiles, and development, participated. Forty-six candidates secured employment on the spot, receiving appointment letters from the chief guest and special guests. Fourteen companies joined for the second consecutive year.
Employers represented included Berger Paints, Urmi Group, Team Group, Shin Shin Group, SAJIDA Foundation, ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno), M.M. Ispahani, BRAC Bank, and B-SCAN, among others.
Chief guest Bijoy Krishna Debnath, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Social Welfare, said: "True development requires equal access to opportunities for every citizen. Initiatives like this job fair show how government, private sector, and enablers can collaborate to make inclusivity a reality."
Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME Banking, BRAC Bank, remarked: "BRAC Bank believes in creating opportunities that go beyond finance. Employment is a powerful means of ensuring dignity, empowerment, and inclusion for individuals with disabilities. This fair enables talent to be recognised and connected with opportunity."
Ardashir Kabir, Chairman of BBDN Board of Trustees and President of Bangladesh Employers' Federation (BEF), said: "This job fair marks real progress towards an inclusive workforce. By opening doors for persons with disabilities, we are empowering individuals and tapping into potential that can drive national growth."
The event was attended by Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, BBDN Board Member and President of BEF; Max Tuñón, Country Director Designate of the ILO; and Engr. Md. Ruhul Amin, Chairman, BTEB, expressed their support for a more inclusive labour market.
