BOU shares experience in blended learning at Chennai forum

Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University (BOU), and Professor Dr Abul Hasnat Md Shamim, Treasurer, have returned to Bangladesh after attending the three-day 'Consultative Meeting on Blended Learning in TVET' in Chennai, India.
The meeting was held from 6 to 8 October 2025 and was jointly organised by the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai.
The consultative session focused on implementing blended learning approaches in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Discussion also centred on improving the quality of teacher training programmes and strengthening the National Technical and Vocational Qualifications Framework (NTVQF/BNQF).
Representing Bangladesh, Professor Dr ABM Obaidul Islam actively participated in the discussions, sharing timely insights and highlighting BOU's experience and achievements in the field.
During the session, Professor Dr Abul Hasnat Md Shamim delivered a PowerPoint presentation on BOU's success in open and distance learning. He also highlighted the potential and applications of technical and vocational training, drawing considerable attention from participants.
The Bangladesh delegation returned home from Chennai by air on Wednesday evening, 9 October 2025, having successfully completed their participation in the meeting.
