BMU observes Martyrs' and International Mother Language Day 2025

Bangladesh Maritime University celebrated Great Martyr's Day and International Mother Language Day 2025 with due dignity.
At the beginning of the day, a delegation led by the Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University, Rear Admiral Ashraful Hoq Chowdhury, NBP, OSP, BCGM, ndc, afwc, psc, along with the Treasurer, Registrar, Deans, Teachers, Officers, Employees, and Students, participated in the morning procession, paid homage, and wreathed at the central Shaheed Minar.
Later, the university organised a discussion and a cultural program at the Mirpur campus in light of the Language Movement and International Mother Language Day. The Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Swarna Dutta, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali, delivered a speech on the importance and significance of Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day.
The chief guest reverently remembered the life sacrifices of the 1952 language martyrs for their mother tongue. He also sincerely respected the students, children, and others who sacrificed their lives in the July 2024 People's Uprising.
