bKash wins top honours at SDG Brand Champion Awards

bKash has been recognised as the 'Most Sustainable Financial Institution of the Year' and as an 'SDG Brand Champion in Sustainable Partnerships and Institutions' at the SDG Brand Champion Awards 2025.

The accolades were presented at the third edition of the awards, organised by the Bangladesh Innovation Conclave, held recently in the capital. The awards honour organisations making significant contributions toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Bangladesh.

BKash, the country's largest mobile financial service provider, was lauded for its holistic integration of sustainability across operations and stakeholder engagement. Its strategic approach—focusing on financial inclusion, responsible innovation and impact partnerships—earned it the top honour in the financial institution category.

The company was also named an SDG Brand Champion in the Sustainable Partnerships and Institutions category for its efforts in fostering collaborative development. Its partnerships with government agencies, civil society, the private sector, and communities have enabled large-scale social impact, especially in expanding access to financial services for underserved populations.

Major General Sheikh Md Monirul Islam (retd), Chief External and Corporate Affairs Officer, and Ali Ahmmed, Chief Commercial Officer, received the awards on behalf of bKash.
Commenting on the recognition, bKash said the awards reflect its enduring mission to build a financially inclusive ecosystem that supports Bangladesh's sustainable growth. From facilitating digital welfare disbursements and educational stipends to supporting SMEs and rural entrepreneurs, bKash continues to play a critical role in democratising access to finance.

The mobile financial services provider, regulated by the Bangladesh Bank, has become a model for public-private collaboration in the country's journey toward achieving the SDGs, especially in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, financial inclusion, and institutional capacity building.

With a customer base of over 75 million and a nationwide agent network, bKash has been a transformative force in reshaping Bangladesh's financial landscape.
