bKash offers daily gifts for remittance senders

Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, bKash has launched a special remittance campaign where the highest remittance receiver to a bKash account each day will win a Hisense Deep Freezer, and the second highest will receive a 43-inch Hisense Smart TV.

Additionally, recipients of over Tk10,000 in remittance (excluding the 2.5% government incentive) will receive a guaranteed Tk500 discount coupon. This offer will continue until 5 June 2025. The coupons, including those for daily fridge and TV winners, will be automatically added to the recipients' bKash accounts and can be used when purchasing Hisense appliances from Fair Electronics Smart Plazas across the country.

Each customer is eligible to receive either the daily prize or the discount coupon once during the campaign.

This initiative aims to promote the use of legal banking channels for sending remittances. Currently, expatriates from over 140 countries — including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, USA, UK, Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait, Italy, Canada, France, and South Korea — can send remittances to their relatives' bKash accounts via 110 international Money Transfer Operators (MTOs). These are processed through 25 leading commercial banks and instantly deposited into the recipients' bKash wallets, alongside a government incentive of Tk25 per thousand.

As per Bangladesh Bank regulations, up to Tk2,50,000 can be sent per transaction to a bKash account.

Relatives of expatriates can conveniently cash out funds from over 2,500 ATM booths nationwide at a cost of only Tk7 per thousand using the bKash app or by dialling *247#. They can also enjoy reduced cash-out charges of Tk14.90 per thousand from up to two 'Priyo Agents' for transactions up to Tk50,000.

In addition to cashing out, users can make payments, settle utility bills, recharge phones, pay educational and government fees, contribute zakat or fitrah, and donate to charity — all from the comfort of their home through the bKash platform.
