bkash launches ‘remittance statement’ feature for app users

bKash has added a 'Remittance Statement' feature to its app. Now, recipients can access transaction records at any time, making financial management simpler. The feature also helps customers when filing tax returns.
The updated bKash app has restructured the remittance section into three tabs: Country-Wise Operator, Remittance Statement, and Receipts. By tapping the statement tab, customers can request statements for the last 30 days, 180 days, the tax year, or any custom period.
Customers can request statements twice a day, up to five times per month. After a request is made, the statement is typically received within 72 hours. An in-app notification appears when the download is ready. The service is free, and each statement is password-protected for security.
The statement's top section lists the recipient's name, bKash number, recipient type, statement period, and issue date. The bottom shows the total number and amount of remittances received. A detailed breakdown includes the date and time, country of origin, settlement bank, money transfer organization, and amount received, in that order.
So far, expatriates have sent remittances to over four million bKash accounts through legal channels. These funds help improve the lives of recipients' families and strengthen Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves.
Currently, remittances come from over 140 countries via 110 international money transfer operators and settle at 25 leading commercial banks before being credited to bKash accounts. BKash also encourages expatriates to use legal channels for sending remittances.
