BDCricTime reaches 10 million Facebook followers
BDCricTime has reached a milestone in Bangladesh's digital sports media landscape by crossing 10 million followers on Facebook.
To mark the achievement, the digital platform hosted a programme in Mirpur on 17 December, attended by leading figures from the cricketing and media communities. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Aminul Islam Bulbul attended the event as the chief guest, while former Bangladesh captains Khaled Mashud and Mohammad Ashraful were also present.
Launched in 2015, BDCricTime has grown steadily by providing match updates, analysis and cricket-related content to audiences in Bangladesh and abroad. The platform said what began as a passion-driven initiative has evolved into a major digital outlet with millions of daily engagements.
Speaking at the event, Aminul Islam Bulbul congratulated the platform on its growth and highlighted the responsibility that comes with such reach. "Starting from one and reaching ten million is not easy," he said, adding that platforms with large audiences play an important role in shaping how people understand the game.
He also urged the platform to maintain positive and objective journalism, and to broaden its focus beyond match coverage to include grassroots cricket, women's cricket, age-level cricket and cricket education.
Former captain Khaled Mashud said the platform's consistency and accessibility had contributed to its growth, expressing hope that it would continue to expand its reach in the future.
BDCricTime founder Md Jabed Ali thanked supporters and team members, saying the achievement belonged to readers, viewers and staff who had contributed to the platform's journey over the years.
The programme concluded with an award ceremony, photo session and dinner.
