BCSIR hosts Science and Industrial Technology Fair 2025

The Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) inaugurated its three-day Science and Industrial Technology Fair 2025 this morning at its Dhanmondi campus. The fair aims to foster scientific and industrial advancements by engaging school and college students, as well as self-taught scientists.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by Md Mokabbir Hossain, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, as the chief guest. In his speech, he paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1952 Language Movement, the valiant freedom fighters of 1971, and the brave soldiers of 2024. He reminded the audience that BCSIR is Bangladesh's first government research institution and urged its scientists to dedicate themselves to innovation.

Kazi Anwar Hossain, Member (Development) of BCSIR and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, attended as a special guest. He highlighted BCSIR's role as a hub for multidisciplinary research and emphasised that the groundbreaking innovations showcased at the fair would contribute to the development of advanced processes and patents.

She reaffirmed BCSIR's commitment to fostering a scientifically inclined society and supporting national development through research initiatives, with this fair being one such endeavour.

Running from 24 to 26 February 2025, the fair features 68 scientific projects from various institutions, involving approximately 250 young scientists. Additionally, several institutions under the Ministry of Science and Technology are displaying their research and activities.
