BCSIR holds seminar technology excellence in food processing research

Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) held a seminar titled 'Technology Excellence in Food Processing Research 2025'.

This seminar was held at the IFST Auditorium of BCSIR today, Monday, March 24, 2025. The seminar was attended by the Chairman of the Council, Dr Samina Ahmed, as the Chief Guest and the Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Muhammad Ashraf Ali Faruk, the Special Guest.

In his speech, the Chairman of BCSIR, Dr Samina Ahmed, who was also the chief guest, said, 'The importance of research in the development of food security and industrialisation of Bangladesh is immense. This seminar will help further dynamise food research activities.'

Additional Secretary (Development) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Muhammad Ashraf Ali Faruk, said, 'If the benefits of IFST's food processing research and development can be brought to the people's doorsteps, then the benefits of such projects will be visible.' 

Representatives of the domestic industry sector, food researchers from various institutions, more than 50 researchers and teachers from technology institutions, and students from different universities attended the seminar.
