BBA partners with Omera Solar for clean energy initiative of Padma bridge service area

The Bangladesh Bridge Authority and Omera Renewable Energy Limited (Omera Solar), a part of the East Coast Group, have agreed to install a 6.03 MWp rooftop solar project at Padma Bridge service areas 1, 2, and 3.
The signing ceremony took place at Setu Bhaban, attended by senior officials from both organisations.
Omera Solar will install 6.03 MWp rooftop solar systems at the three service areas. These systems are projected to generate nearly 9,000 megawatt-hours of clean electricity annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 6,000 tonnes. This reduction is equivalent to planting over 250,000 trees or removing 1,200 fuel-driven cars from service.
"This renewable energy initiative reflects our commitment to sustainability and will set a benchmark for incorporating green energy solutions in major national infrastructure projects," said Ferdous Alam, chief engineer of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority.
Masudur Rahim, CEO of Omera Solar, said: "As a concern of East Coast Group, Omera Solar is honoured to partner with BBA in this landmark project. We are committed to delivering world-class rooftop solar solutions that will contribute to the nation's clean energy transition."
The Bangladesh Bridge Authority, under the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, implements, operates, and maintains major bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure in the country. Omera Solar, a leading renewable energy company specialising in solar EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) solutions, drives the adoption of clean energy across Bangladesh.
